Sprocket App Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Sprocket iOS app handles your information. Sprocket is designed to keep your data private by default. It is separate from the privacy policy for this website, which covers our contact forms.
Your data stays with you
All vehicle, maintenance, expense, fuel, and odometer records you enter are stored on your device and, when you enable iCloud, in your personal iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit private database). Sprocket Solutions, LLC does not have access to this data, cannot read it, and never receives a copy.
No tracking, analytics, or ads
The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking software, and we do not build a profile of you. The app itself sends us no usage data. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may share crash reports and aggregated usage statistics with us. Apple manages that sharing, and you can turn it off at any time in the Settings app.
No account required
The app uses your own Apple ID and iCloud. There is no Sprocket account, and we collect no login credentials.
Photos, videos, and attachments
Any photos, videos, or files you attach to a record are stored the same way as your other data, on your device and in your private iCloud, and are never transmitted to us. Sprocket uses your camera and microphone only when you choose to take a photo, record a video, or scan a document, and adds to your photo library only to save a recording that is too large to attach.
Your location
When you choose a station or vendor, Sprocket reads your location to sort your saved places by distance, show where you are, and find places nearby. That is the only time the app reads your location. It never tracks your location in the background, and we never receive it. If you prefer not to use your location, you can decline the location prompt or turn access off later in iOS Settings and type the location manually instead.
Sprocket uses Apple Maps to find places, look up addresses, show current details for places you have saved, and draw maps. To do this, it sends Apple Maps the place names and addresses you type and, if you have allowed location access, your location. These requests go to Apple, not to us. A place you save along with any phone number, website, or notes is stored on your device and in your private iCloud, like everything else you enter, and changes only if you choose to update it.
Purchases
Sprocket Pro subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details or your Apple ID, and the app confirms your purchases on your device.
Contacting support
If you choose to email us from within the app, it opens your email app with a message to our support team, pre-filled with basic non-identifying diagnostics (app version, iOS version, and device model). Nothing is sent until you choose to send it. You can also reach us through the Sprocket support page.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your control over your data
Your records live on your device and in your iCloud. You can delete them in the app, or remove the app and its iCloud data through iOS Settings. Backups and CSV exports you create are files you control, and they go only where you choose to save or share them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
